LINEN

"Linen is naturally eco-friendly since flax requires minimal resources to grow. With proper care, linen ages beautifully."

Linen Care Guide

Linen, derived from the flax plant, is one of the oldest cultivated materials and is known for its sustainability. Flax requires minimal resources, such as fertilizers and irrigation, and can be grown on marginal land. Linen is durable and develops a unique patina over time. Its long, thick fibers provide resistance, shape retention, and reduce pilling compared to cotton.

Care Instructions:
  • Check the Care Label: Always refer to the care label for specific instructions on treating your linen garment.
  • Washing: Linen is generally machine washable. However, to minimize shrinkage, wash in warm water (30°C) and use a gentle spin cycle. While hand washing is possible, the machine handwash cycle is recommended to avoid damaging the fabric. If hand washing, use lukewarm water, soak the garment, and gently swish it—avoid twisting, wringing, or scrubbing.
  • Drying: Air drying is preferable for linen to avoid shrinkage and wear from tumble drying. Hang the garment immediately after washing to minimize wrinkling. If pressing is necessary, use a medium-hot iron while the fabric is still damp or place a damp towel over it.
  • Wrinkling: Linen naturally wrinkles and creases, which is part of its charm. To manage wrinkles, iron while damp or use a steam setting. Avoid always folding the garment in the same place to prevent fabric breakdown.
  • Storage: Avoid thin wire hangers or clamps, which can leave marks on linen. Use broader hangers or fold the garments carefully.

Considering these care tips will help maintain the quality and appearance of your linen garments.
